Wecp coop member jobs & descriptions

  • Laundry: Takes the laundry home on Friday and returns the items on Monday. (This job is assigned to a 3’s member.)

  • Dramatic Play Helper: Works with teachers outside of class hours to change the dramatic play corner theme. Usually one Thursday or Friday afternoon each month for 1-2 hours. Some moderate to heavy lifting may be required.

  • Sensory Bin: Empty and clean + sanitize sensory bin bi-weekly. This job is assigned to a 3’s family member, to be completed on Friday after class.

  • Hallway Display Team: This person or team is responsible for updating the hallway bulletin board theme in the months of September, December and March. Installations generally take 2 hours and may require some prep ahead of time. Requires availability after 3:00pm or during weekends. Coordinate access to the school through the Vice Chair. Take down the hallway display at the end of May

    Note: You must be able to complete the first bulletin board before class orientations at the end of August.

  • Field Trip Coordinator: Works with the Teacher and class to plan and organize low cost, age-appropriate field trips, including finding out about costs, parking, directions and facilities for the children. Each class decides the number of field trips.  

  • Winter Social/Potluck Coordinator: Coordinate a potluck meal at the school in December. Recruit volunteers for set up and clean up. Plan two “Parent’s Night Out” social events per year - i.e. group dinner at a restaurant, bowling night, etc.

  • Fundraising Committee Representative: Reports to the Fundraising Chair. Acts as a liaison between Fundraising Chair and class members. Helps the Fundraising Coordinator organize at least two WECP fundraising events during the school year. Possible fundraisers include auction, community yard sale, Read-a-Thon, or other sales.

  • Play-Dough Maker: Make new play dough for the classroom using a recipe provided by the Teacher. Schedule to be determined by Teacher. Receipts for materials used can be submitted to the treasurer for reimbursement

  • End Of Year Book Helper: Sorts and provides photos and/or art for the children’s End of Year memory books and helps create content for End of Year memory books as directed by Teacher.

  • Special Events Committee Representative: Organizes and carries out special WECP events as assigned. Such events could include Fundraising events and Year End Picnic.  Encourages participation by other members in your classroom. Solicits RSVP’s. 

  • Portable Sink Duty: This is assigned to a working grown-up in each class for their working day. Before class daily - ensure that clean tanks are full and waste tanks are empty & after class daily - empty waste water tanks and refill clean water tanks. Moderate to heavy lifting is required for this job.

  • Gardener: Clean and maintain planters on preschool property & plan planting schedule for raised beds (behind portable) to be done with class room students as directed by Teacher.

  • Little Library Maintenance: Clean and maintain little library as needed. Monthly book check/refresh as needed.
